The Diplomats: Diplomatic Ties [EMPIRE]

The Diplomats released their last album, Diplomatic Immunity 2, in 2004. This October, the quartet of Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zekey announced that they would release an album on Thanksgiving. Earlier this month, Dipset released the first single, “Sauce Boyz,” produced by frequent collaborators the Heatmakerz. Tonight, the Diplomats will celebrate the album’s release with a performance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

Art Brut: Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! [Alcopop!]

Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! marks Art Brut’s first new album since 2011’s Brilliant! Tragic. The lineup has changed since then: Jasper Future and Mikey Breyer have left the group, leaving founding members Eddie Argos, Ian Catskilkin, and Freddy Feedback with new guitarist Toby McFarlane (who plays bass for Graham Coxon), and drummer Charlie Layton of the Wedding Present.

Oneohtrix Point Never: Love in the Time of Lexapro EP [Warp]

Oneohtrix Point Never’s new EP features songs from his most recent album Age Of reworked with (Sandy) Alex G and Ryichi Sakamoto, as well as two new songs: the title track and “Thank God I’m a Country Girl.” He released another EP, The Station, this past summer.

Bauhaus: The Bela Session [Stones Throw]

Previously unreleased recordings from their very first session in 1979. It features their work on “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” as well as three other songs: “Bite My Hip” (later remade and released as “Lagartija Nick” in 1983), ”Some Faces,” and “Boys (Original)” (later re-recorded and released as the B-side of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”). Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy and bassist David J are in the midst of a tour celebrating the band’s 1979 record In the Flat Field.

Boosie Badazz: Boosie Blues Café [self-released]

Boosie Badazz announced the release of his first blues album, Boosie Blues Café only a couple of days ago. “My blues album is a real blues album. Blues beats, blues instruments,” he wrote in a statement. “It’s one of the coldest blues albums people will hear.”
