EDC Orlando hits Orlando for its eighth year this week. A lot has changed in EDM since the first event in 2011, and the scale and spectacle have exploded. Beyond the fireworks, rides and LED-laden production, there’s a core appeal to EDC: amazing sets.

EDC Orlando has the usual suspects across genres, but there’s some unique artists and b2bs this year. In an era where monotony dominates US festival lineups, EDC lineups stand out. And while EDC Orlando remains EDC Vegas‘ little sibling, it has its own share of rare sets.

A closing set from Kaskade or Martin Garrix may tempt you, but consider these five unique sets at EDC Orlando as well.

Tiësto (Sunset Slot)

EDC Orlando benefits from Florida’s time change, giving stages an extra hour to shine in the dark. But, there’s something special about catching a sunset slot too. Tiësto mans the sunset slot at kineticFIELD on Saturday, a rare treat from the usual stage closer. He played at similar slot at Ultra, sneaking in some trance gems among the usual bigroom house. Fans may get a rare listen to “Adagio For Strings” and some other classics; whatever the case, expect pure energy.

Dillon Francis & Friends

Dillon Francis rides high after releasing his Wut Wut album, full of Latin-inspired tracks. EDC Orlando has him for a prime slot, but he’s bringing some friends along as well. Which friends, exactly? We expect fellow artists on the lineup, perhaps like-minded producers like Kayzo, Alison Wonderland and GTA. Or, maybe even artists not even on the lineup at all. There’s a possibility for something truly magical here.

Jamie Jones b2b The Martinez Brothers

Tech house, house and techno work best in extended sets. So, expect solo sets from Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers to warm-up this closing b2b. Jones bring his Paradise party once again to neonGARDEN, but this marks the debut EDC Orlando for The Martinez Brothers. The three have b2b many times in the past, but we’re curious to hear how they cater their set to the rave crowd.

Nicole Moudaber b2b Paco Osuna

Another b2b closes out neonGARDEN on Friday, this one between Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna. Both EDC Orlando veterans, they’ll close out after playing solo sets of their own. The two have also played b2b before, but never for EDC Orlando. Expect dark, thumping tech house, a complement to the lighter fare from Jones and The Martinez Brothers. The set caps Moudaber’s first-ever MoodZONE takeover at EDC Orlando as well.

4B b2b GTA b2b Valentino Khan

B2B sets may dominate this list, but for good reason: they’re hard to catch. Bass fans will find much to love from this b2b between 4B, GTA and Valentino Khan, closing out the circuitGROUNDS on Saturday night. We anticipate a mix of trap, dubstep, moombah and maybe even some future bass or even house. Energy levels will be high during this closing b2b, so prepare accordingly.

See you at EDC Orlando this weekend, on November 9-10 at Tinker Field!
