In May 2018, Cardi B and Offset were sued by a man named Giovanni Arnold, who asserted that the rappers instructed three men to “savage[ly] assault” him after he asked for an autograph outside of a Met Gala afterparty. The lawsuit also named Migos’ management company Quality Control Management, LLC, New York City’s Mark Hotel (the location of the alleged assault), and the three “Unknown Assailants.”
In July, the Mark Hotel responded to the suit, claiming that Cardi, Offset, and Quality Control Management should be held responsible for any potential damages. In January 2019, Cardi B responded stating that she should not be held responsible for any damages suffered by Arnold, and that any alleged damages were caused by Quality Control Management and the Mark Hotel.
Now, Cardi’s attorneys have removed Quality Control’s name from an amended answer and counterclaim filed today (February 8), as the Blast reports, and Pitchfork can confirm via court documents. In the amended documents, Cardi is now holding the Mark Hotel solely responsible for any possible damages.
