DFL (aka Dead Fucking Last)—the hardcore punk supergroup of Beastie Boys’ Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, Monty Messex, Tom Davis, and Tony Converse—have announced a deluxe reissue of their 1993 debut album, My Crazy Life. It’s due out August 11 via Trust. This reissue marks the first time DFL’s debut album has been pressed to 12″ vinyl. To celebrate that, DFL have shared the remastered studio versions of “Pizza Man” and “America’s Most Hardcore,” the former of which comes with a black-and-white music video of DFL performing spliced together with various footage. Check those songs out below.

Remastered by original producer Mario Caldato Jr, the deluxe reissue of My Crazy Life is accompanied by Live at G-Son Studios, a previously unreleased live show. That G-Son set took place at a party the same day DFL recorded what would become My Crazy Life.

Additionally, the deluxe reissue of My Crazy Life comes with an in-depth, full-color zine documenting the band’s early days. It features a 20-page oral history comprised of interviews with the band members, Grand Royal Records executives, and other members of the scene at the time. Plus, the zine has never-before-seen photos by Sofia Coppola, the original vinyl release images photographed by Spike Jonze, flyers from past shows, and archival images by Bryan Ray Turcotte.

“I literally remember the moment when we started DFL,” recalled Messex in a press release. “Adam dropped by my place in Echo Park and kinda half jokingly asked him if he wanted to start a hardcore band. To my surprise he was like, ‘Uh… yeah!’ I had a few songs and we went over to G-Son. I played them for Adam and the band was born right there and then.”

Founded in 1991, DFL rotated through a number of members over the years, with drummer Tony Converse departing after the release of My Crazy Life only to rejoin the following year. The band signed to Epitaph in 1994 and released its sophomore LP, Proud to Be, the next year. After releasing Grateful in 1997 and embarking on an extensive tour, the band formally broke up in 1997. Eventually, DFL would reform in 2013 with Monty Messex, Tom Davis, Nick Trevino, and Nick Manning, although lineup changes still occurred.
