Big Joanie, the Black feminist punk trio from London, have announced their new album Back Home. Their sophomore LP is out November 4 via Kill Rock Stars in the U.S. and the Daydream Library Series—Thurston Moore and Eva Prinz’s label—in the UK. Check out the music video for the lead single “In My Arms,” directed by Lydia Garnett, below.

Recorded at Hermitage Works Studios in North London, Back Home was produced and mixed by Margo Broom (Goat Girl, Fat White Family) and features violin by No Home’s Charlotte Valentine. “It’s about the different ideas of home,” lead singer and guitarist Stephanie Phillips said of the album’s title. “Whether that’s here in the UK, back in Africa or the Caribbean, or a place that doesn’t really exist; it’s neither here nor there.”

Back Home is Big Joanie’s sophomore album and the follow-up to their 2018 full-length debut Sistahs. In addition to “In My Arms,” the record also includes their single “Happier Still” that was released this past June. Find the full tracklist after the jump.

In 2020, the band released a cover of Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” through Third Man Records.
