Last year, Billboard Dance launched their first annual Billboard Dance 100 artist rankings. In their first-ever fan poll, Billboard received nearly a quarter of a million votes across 174 countries on all seven continents. In addition to the fan poll, Billboard utilizes global chart statistics and touring data to compile a comprehensive list of the top 100 dance artists of the year. The first of its kind and dedicated to avoiding personal bias, the Billboard Dance 100 has given a deeper insight into the ever-growing dance genre.

This year, some of our favorite acts like RÜFÜS DU SOL, Lost Kings, Whethan, Slushii, Petit Biscuit, Fisher, Loud Luxury debuted on the list while other dance staples like Major Lazer, Krewella, Flosstradamus, Flux Pavilion, Baauer, A-Trak, and Mija all fell off.

The top five saw little change with Kygo, Zedd, The Chainsmokers, and Calvin Harris all battling for that #1 spot, which to no surprise, was gifted to Marshmello.

Diplo, DJ Snake, Skrillex, ODESZA, Flume, and deadmau5 all landed in the top 20 with Disclosure, Porter Robinson, Illenium, Alison Wonderland, Zeds Dead, Rezz, Dillon Francis, RL Grime, and Louis The Child rounding out the top 50. Other favorites who made the list include NGHTMRE, Cashmere Cat, San Holo, Jauz, ZHU, Madeon, SNAILS, GRiZ, Seven Lions, Jai Wolf, and TOKiMONSTA. Most notably, Kayzo made a huge jump this year from #98 to #67.
