Boygenius made their first appearance at Coachella (or second, actually, after their surprise appearance with Muna on Friday). Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus took the stage together ahead of a North American tour. During their set, the band took a moment to share opinions on recent political events. “I don’t know if you’ve been checking the news and seeing what’s been going on in Florida and Missouri and some of the other places, but trans lives matter, trans kids matter,” Dacus said. “We’re gonna fight it. We love you.” Bridgers added: “And abortion rocks. And fuck Ron DeSantis.”

Their set also included performances of “$20,” “Salt in the Wound,” “Me & My Dog,” “Anti-Curse,” and more.

Boygenius released their first LP, The Record, on March 31, nearly five years after issuing their debut EP. In addition to the North American tour dates they announced before the record’s arrival, Boygenius will headline a leg of the Re:Set concert series. Dijon, Bartees Strange, and Clairo will join them on the latter.
