Carson Daly is stepping down from his role as the host of NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” EW reports. A representative for NBC told EW that Daly made the decision to leave the show in order “to concentrate on his duties as host of the ‘Orange Room’ on ‘Today,’ as host and producer on ‘The Voice,’ and to spend more time with his family.”
In a statement, Daly added, “It’s time to move on to something new and let someone else have access to this incredible platform.” EW reports that a new show will be announced shortly for Daly’s time slot. The date of his final episode has not yet been announced.
Carson Daly began hosting “Last Call” in 2002. Musical guests have included Cat Power, Lightning Bolt, Caribou, and others.
