Following a public apology, looks like long-time friends/former business partners Dame Dash and Jay-Z have made amends and gotten back to making money through Jay’s popular streaming platform Tidal. Began streaming original films back in 2016, it was announced today that Tidal will be featuring Jay-Z and Dame Dash-produced 2002 classic Paid In Full.

Directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline), Paid In Full stars an all-star cast including Wood Harris (Creed II), Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile), and Multi-platinum recording artist/actor Cam’ron (“Oh Boy”). Loosely based on a true story, the iconic crime drama taking place in the late-1980s crack epidemic. Following, Ace (Harris), a young man employed by a Harlem dry cleaning shop, working hard to stay out of the drug business. While making deliveries, he meets Lulu, a drug dealer who convinces Ace to join him. Ace recruits his friends Mitch (Phifer) and Rico (Cam’ron), and the trio becomes major players in the Harlem drug underworld, a violent business that will test the friends’ loyalty and wits as the money rolls in and the dangers grow beyond their control.

Paid In Full was the first film produced by Jay Z and Dame Dash, an extension of their partnership as co-owners of iconic origin music label Roc-a-Fella Records. Frienemies for a bitter part of a decade after parting ways professionally in 2004 after launching iconic careers of Jay Z, Kanye West, Diplomats, and producer Just Blaze. Jay Z went on to become CEO of Def Jam and launch Roc Nation, the home of Rihanna, J. Cole, Vic Mensa, and more.

Originally reconciling back in 2013, recently the two moguls reportedly had issues following recent interviews Dash did discuss Jay-Z’s involvement with R.Kelly, knowing the R&B singer disgusting relationship with Dame’s girlfriend and late-R&B singer Aaliyah. Jay and R.Kelly released two collaboration projects titled, Best of Both Worlds.

Earlier this month (February), Dame took to his personal media outlet DDTV to clear his conscious and apologizes to Jay-Z, Legendary New York DJ Funk Flex, music mogul Jim Jones, and former label executive Lyor Cohen for questioning their morals and intentions in Hip-Hop. Paid In Full joins Tidal’s stacked catalog of original content like exclusive podcasts, concerts, documentaries, and other classic films like Jay-Z’s Streets Is Watching.
