Eight days ago, it was reported that Okeechobee Music Festival in Florida had not applied for a permit in 2019. With only four months until its usual festival date, this revelation shed major doubt on the festival’s future and presence next year.

Now that the official minutes of the meeting of the Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners have been made public, shared by @TheFestiveOwl, it’s been confirmed that Okeechobee Music Festival 2019 is not happening.

During the meeting, County Administrator Robbie Chartier stated, “It’s pretty safe to say there won’t be a festival this year.” This was in spite of the festival posting on its social media to “hang in there” for more information.

When asked whether a 2020 comeback was possible, @TheFestiveOwl replied, “I wouldn’t hold my breath. They have *zero* staff. So, unless someone with structure in place buys it all…it’s easy to see the answer.”

Okeechobee this year featured headlining performances by Arcade Fire, Bassnectar, Halsey, Travis Scott, and Snoop Dogg.
