Back in November, the Criterion Collection announced a new streaming service, the Criterion Channel. The announcement came shortly before the previously announced shutdown of FilmStruck, the platform that focused on streaming classic, foreign, and arthouse films (including films in the Criterion Collection).

Now, an official launch date has been announced. The Criterion Channel launches April 8 with “selections of Hollywood, international, art-house, and independent movies, plus access to Criterion’s entire streaming library of more than 1,000 important classic and contemporary films from around the world.” Find more information here.
