After posting a concerning tweet last night, CupcakKe has been accounted for and her safety has been confirmed by the Chicago Police Department, the BBC reports. On January 8, a tweet with the message “im about to commit suicide” appeared on the Chicago rapper’s Twitter account. It was reposted on Instagram, captioned, “thank you for everything y’all have done for me I really appreciate it.” Her friend Elijah Daniel tweeted overnight that Cupcakke had been hospitalized and was “okay.”

In August 2018, between the release of her albums Ephorize and Eden, the rapper born Elizabeth Harris tweeted about her struggles with depression. “I try to be as positive as possible but I just want to say I’m at a very low & depressed point in my life,” she wrote on August 15. “I been feeling this way for a while so please understand if you never hear from me again … it’s nothing no one could of did to make my life better … it’s just me and my demons.”
