We all know by now that Diplo is capable of making any type of music and doing it well. He can make us feel, he can make us twerk, and more than anything, he can make us dance. House Diplo just might be our favorite kind of Diplo — and even if you don’t agree, just listen.
The producer unexpectedly dropped a double-header EP with two brand new tracks, “Hold You Tight” and “Bubble Up.” As we listen to the master at work, he opens his soundscape in ways we’ve never heard. Looking at the credits, there’s a handful of writers on the tracks and both are also co-produced by Nitti Gritti.
Whether it’s hip hop or house music he’s working with, Diplo’s overall sound is worldly. He embraces culture through indescribable feelings and styles, as heard on each of these tracks. The first, more angelic and blissful. The second, more rhythmic and enticing. Both, extremely repeatable.
