On June 30, seven people were injured and four were hospitalized when a man drove an “off-road vehicle” into the crowd at Curiosity Music Festival in Princeton, British Columbia, as Brooklyn Vegan reports (via CBC News). In a Facebook post from July 2, representatives for the festival confirmed that an individual assaulted their medical staff and stole a “medical vehicle,” which he drove “at high speed towards our stage” around 2:30 a.m. The post continues that the individual was apprehended “within seconds” of the incident and now faces charges including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and more. According to CBC, the injuries suffered from the incident were “serious but non-life threatening.” Referring to it as an “isolated incident with unknown factors,” representatives for the festival add, “All individuals will recover.” The post also states, “Ongoing support for the victims and any involved is available through local harm reduction and trauma teams in their community. Curiosity Music Festival would like to extend its sincerest apologies to all the victims involved.”
