Beck has won Best Alternative Music Album at the 61st Grammy Awards. His 2017 studio album Colors beat out records by Arctic Monkeys (Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino), Björk (Utopia), David Byrne (American Utopia), and St. Vincent (MASSEDUCTION). Producer Greg Kurstin accepted the award on Beck’s behalf, but Beck later tweeted his thanks.

The album also won Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Upon accepting the award, mastering engineer Emily Lazar announced that she was the first female mastering engineer to win the award.

Beck was nominated for three Grammy Awards this year: Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Pop Solo Performance (“Colors”). Prior to 2019, Beck won five Grammys, most notably Best Rock Album and Album of the Year in 2015 for Morning Phase.
