Iggy Pop Covers Leonard Cohen’s “You Want It Darker”: Listen

Iggy Pop has released his cover of Leonard Cohen’s 2016 single “You Want It Darker.” It’ll appear on Blue Note Records’ collection of Cohen covers, Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen. Listen to the new song below.

Cohen released “You Want It Darker” in September 2016. The album, also called You Want It Darker, followed in October 2016. The next month, Cohen died at the age of 82. “There’s nobody like Leonard, not in the whole world,” Iggy Pop said in a press statement.

Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen is out October 14. The album, produced by Larry Klein, features contributions from James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, Mavis Staples, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, and more.
