Instagram has announced that it is currently testing a new feature which hides the total number of likes and video views. The feature has only been rolled out in seven countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and New Zealand. The concept behind this life-altering change is to promote content in a more unbiased nature. By removing like and view counts, Instagram is hoping to force its users to focus on the content itself instead of the quantity and quality of likes. This feature only limits users from seeing others’ photo and video likes and users will still be able to see their own like counts. Only time will tell if this feature will “benefit everyone’s experience” as Instagram hopes. Check out Instagram’s official announcement below and stay tuned for more updates.
