James Blake is releasing a new album, Playing Robots Into Heaven, on September 8 via Republic. The follow-up to 2021’s Friends That Break Your Heart is led by the single “Big Hammer.” The new “Big Hammer” music video, directed by Oscar Hudson, is shot from the perspective of a car that gets up to no good, crashing around an urban complex and facilitating a bank robbery alongside some stylish troublemakers in white tracksuits. Watch it below.

Along with the new album, Blake has announced a number of European and North American tour dates. The bulk of the shows take place in September and October. Find James Blake’s tour schedule below.

In between traditional studio albums, James Blake used the generative music app Endel to create the ambient project Winding Down. He recently featured on Metro Boomin Presents Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Soundtrack From and Inspired by the Motion Picture).
