James Blake has been teasing some cryptic details for what seems to be a forthcoming LP. Blake is rumored to be readying a follow-up to 2016’s The Colour in Anything, reportedly called Assume Form. A website for the album recently surfaced featuring a brief snippet of seemingly new music on loop.

On Thursday, as the Fader points out, reports surfaced that the new album would be released on January 25. Though the title and released date of the LP have not been officially confirmed, an LED billboard in London, England projected the words “Assume Form” on Friday night (January 4). A similar billboard appeared in New York’s Times Square later on. Blake posted a video of the Times Square LED display in an Instagram story. Find both “Assume Form” visuals below via Twitter.

Last year, Blake shared the new tracks “If the Car Beside You Moves” and “Don’t Miss It.” Also in 2018, Blake appeared on Travis Scott’s “Stop Trying to Be God” and Jay Rock’s “King’s Dead,” which has earned him two Grammy nominations—Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Next month, James Blake embarks on a North American tour. Read Pitchfork’s 2016 feature interview “James Blake and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
