Jarvis Cocker has announced a new album that serves as a companion piece to Wes Anderson’s forthcoming film The French Dispatch. Chansons d’Ennui Tip Top is out October 22 (the same day as the film’s theattrical release) via ATO. It’s a tribute to French pop music that features songs made popular by artists including Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot, and Jacques Dutronc. The same day that Cocker’s album is released, the film’s original score by Alexandre Desplat will also be released. It features contributions from pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
