Lil Wayne is no longer facing a $20 million lawsuit from his former manager Ronald Sweeney and Avant Garde Management. A judge in a California federal court agreed with a motion to dismiss from Lil Wayne’s attorney, which asserted that the suit was not filed in the appropriate jurisdiction. The ruling without prejudice leaves room for another filing.

In the filing, viewed by Pitchfork, Wayne’s attorney argues that the case should not be decided in California because of Wayne’s more permanent established residence in Florida and Sweeney’s operations in New York. A judge granted the order on Wednesday, October 13. Sweeney and his company sued the rapper late last year, claiming that they were insufficiently compensated for their work for more than a decade.
