Kill the Noise just unleashed a remix of Slipknot‘s “Duality” — and it’s 3 minutes 34 seconds of pure insanity.

Some remixes have a tendency to be fleeting. Exciting in the moment, but quick to fade and ultimately forgotten over time. This one, on the other hand, we feel has some true staying power as Kill the Noise tributes one of his favorite bands of all time.

The track off Slipknot’s third studio album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), originally released in 2004. Fifteen years later, the track has proved its lasting impact as a nu metal instant classic. In 2019, the track sees a revival from Kill the Noise, who provides a thoughtful and skillful perspective on the record.

With every play through, listeners will notice something new. Intricate and modern sound design, matched with familiar track progression, heavy hits, jolting dubstep and sharp trap influences make this heavy metal hybrid extra powerful and commanding. Kill the Noise has a way of building intensity like no other and he absolutely nails it with this one.

The producer provides a statement of his own with the release:

hey everyone. this remix is just a tribute to one of my favorite bands. Not just cause they have made some of my favorite songs, but also what they’ve been through. I don’t want to dwell on it, but those familiar with their past know there have been a lot of ups and downs for them. I relate to some of it – maybe you do too – and I think what makes songs like this important to me, is being able to relate to another person dealing with shit. Hope you enjoy listening to this. I had a lot of fun fuckin around with it and put a lot of surprises in there. – Jake
