As Hip Hop still mourns the recent devastating loss of recording artist/community leader Nipsey Hussle. Superstar Kodak Black ignites an uproar with the city of Los Angeles following unflattering comments towards the late-Hometown Hero’s long-time girlfriend. Due to the immature comments, L.A.’s music scene band together to “mute” Kodak Black.

During a recent Instagram Live session, the Florida hitmaker was seen strategizing a chance to become Nipsey Hussle’s girlfriend’s next boyfriend after grieving. During the conversation, Kodak mentioned waiting a year and being the shoulder she can cry on. Friends of the artist were heard telling the “Zeke” artist of speaking too soon on the matter. Upon the video going viral, Hip Hop quickly responded to Kodak Black’s antics. Those reprimanding Kodak Black included music legends T.I., Tank, and  The Game.

Following the backlash, Kodak Black took to Instagram once again to express to fans that his words were taken out of context and apologize to Lauren London for his distasteful commentary. Apologizing to the actress and deceased; however, Kodak refused to apologize to the “O.G.s” he proclaimed tried to “son” him by demanding respect. Kodak would respond to the older artists with explicit remarks, labeling them “clout chasers” for their actions. See the complete apology below.

Unforgiving of his lackluster apology and tired of his childish humor. Together, Los Angeles radio pledged allegiance to Nipsey Hussle’s legacy by refusing to support  Kodak Black’s music. Los Angeles’s Power 106 was the first to issue an official statement removing Kodak’s music with both rival stations and the city’s biggest radio personalities swiftly aligning with the call-to-action.

Kodak Black shares collaborations on popular radio hits, “Wake Up in the Sky”, featuring Bruno Mars and Gucci Mane, “ZEZE”, featuring Travis Scott and Offset, and “Pills and Automobiles”, featuring Chris Brown, Yo Gotti, and A Boogie with da Hoodie.

Issued statements to “mute” Kodak Black came from huge names in radio, including Big Boy, The L.A. Leakers, Bootleg Kev and DJ Hed.

Before his death, Nipsey Hussle was an avid supporter of Kodak Black. The two were signed to the same record label in Atlantic Records. Nipsey promoted Kodak’s latest music back in 2018 while promoting his own new release, Victory Lap.

Hip Hop adored the relationship of Lauren London and Nipsey Hussle. Idolizing their love for one another, rejoicing the two’s recent heartfelt editorial with GQ. Coining the two’s unity as “relationship goals”. Nipsey Hussle and Lauren share a two-year-old son together in Kross Asghedom.

In other Nipsey Hussle news, the slain artist’s alleged killer is in custody and has been scheduled to begin trial in the coming weeks. If found guilty, the suspect will serve a life sentence. Nipsey Hussle dead at the age of 33-years-old in South Los Angeles.

Kodak Black is slated to begin a nationwide tour this week in support of his new album, Dying to Live.
