No-one saw this coming, yet Lil Uzi Vert is back from his short hiatus. The rapper (real name Symere Woods) announced his indefinite retirement from music back in January 2019 due to label complications, yet he just released a track out of the blue. Titled “Free Uzi”, the banger can only be found on SoundCloud and Tidal right now, and as Atlantic Records confirmed to The Fader, it is a leaked record, and not an official release.

Fans speculate Uzi leaked “Free Uzi” because of the tension building up between him and Generation Now label boss DJ Drama, as the latter recently meant that Uzi can “put [Eternal Atake] (his highly anticipated and delayed sophomore album) out tomorrow or any day he wants.”

Time will tell whether fans will get to see an official release to Eternal Atake anytime soon. In the meantime, check out “Free Uzi” below:
