What’s becoming more and more talked about after the conclusion of music festivals is the amount of waste left behind by attendees. Most of the trash, as you can imagine, comes in the form of disposable plastic goods, ranging from used water bottles to empty cigarette packs. With that in mind, events behemoth Live Nation has announced it’s stepping up in an effort to enact change and decrease the waste left behind from music events.
Their goal is to essentially ban single-use plastics from their festivals and venues in the upcoming years – specifically, to reduce “greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030, and end the sale of single-use plastics […] by 2021.” Read what Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino has said about their new initiative below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
