Merge Records has announced the initial lineup for the label’s upcoming 30th anniversary festival. Among the acts scheduled to perform at MRG30 are Destroyer, Superchunk, the Mountain Goats, Waxahatchee, Wye Oak, Titus Andronicus, Lambchop, Swearin’, Fucked Up, Hiss Golden Messenger, Sneaks, and Ibibio Sound Machine. The four-day event takes place in Carrboro and Durham, North Carolina from July 24–27. For more information, check out the official website. In other Merge news, the first release in their new vinyl subscription service “Born Under a Good Sign” is an all-star tribute to David Bowie’s “Heroes”. The LP will be released digitally and physically at select independent retailers this Friday, February 8.
