Nearly one year exactly after the 2022 event took place, the 2023 Met Gala returned to its traditional date of the first Monday in May at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year’s theme is “In honor of Karl,” referring to the late Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, and some of the biggest stars in the world dressed extravagantly for the annual event.
Guests at the Met Gala, which celebrates the exhibition “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” included Rihanna, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monáe, Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Dua Lipa, Usher, David Byrne, Phoebe Bridgers, Mary J. Blige, Ice Spice, Pusha T, FKA twigs, Olivia Rodrigo, Diddy, Teyana Taylor, Dr. Dre, Maluma, Labrinth, Jack Harlow, Angèle, Blackpink’s Jennie Kim, Skepta, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Petras, Anitta, and many more.
