The definition of electronic dance music has shifted and grown over time. Now that pop music is primarily produced by either EDM DJs or producers, does it count? The jury is still out on that one. But Mickey Kojak is proving that funk and soul can be just as much EDM as your standard “everybody fucking jump” tune on the main stage.

Kojak put out a new tune today called “Bones” that is exactly what I’m talking about. It’s ripe with acid synths and lush guitar licks, supplanted by a sultry vocal that sucks you in and makes you feel all good inside.

With an EP due out in early 2019, you can expect to hear a lot more from this rising Australian talent in the near future. Check out “Bones” below, out now via ALT:Vision Records.
