The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on September 12 at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center. The show will air in 150 countries. “We’re thrilled to be returning to the Prudential Center in Newark for this year’s VMAs,” Bruce Gillmer of Paramount said in a statement. “Celebrating one of our biggest nights in music with the Garden State’s incredible fans has been our goal since last year’s highly successful event.”

At last year’s VMAs, Taylor Swift broke the record for most Video of the Year wins. She then announced her new album Midnights, which arrived two months later. The show featured performances from Bad Bunny, Anitta, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eminem and Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Blackpink, J Balvin, Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and more.
