On Saturday, June 1, a stampede broke out at the Roots Picnic at the Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, as Brooklyn Vegan notes (via Philadelphia’s CBS and ABC affiliates). According to CBS 3 Philadelphia, a false gun scare led to a rush that left five people injured. It reportedly took place during 21 Savage’s set. According to ABC 6, the concert was reportedly back on within an hour, and no arrests were made.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports a fight broke out that “caused a panic and sent fans fleeing in all directions.” Police confirmed that “there were five people with injuries—four with minor injuries and one concertgoer with a broken leg.” A spokesperson for Live Nation, which puts on the Roots Picnic, claimed that a “medical issue” caused the stampede.

Among the performers at the Roots Picnic were H.E.R., Blueface, Raphael Saadiq, and the Roots, who were celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic album Things Fall Apart.
