As Netflix coined it perfectly, FYRE Festival was surely the greatest party that never happened. The large scale event was set to deliver a luxurious and lavish lifestyle for a hectic cost. For one weekend, you would be able to party down the Bahamas with models, influencers, and some of musics most notable headliners. At least, that’s what was promised from founder Billy McFarland and partner Ja Rule.

The marketing tactic behind the event was so genius in today’s digital age. Fueled by the power of social media, it’s no surprise the amount of money the crew were able to pull in. What started as a great idea, ended with copious amounts of terrible ideas and poor execution.

Netflix & Hulu have documented the whole ordeal, produced and shot by different crews, many have noticed each film brought something different to the table. If you’re keen for drama, a bit of comedic relief, and a brief inside look into the marketing tactis of the festival then head over to Netflix. Hulu on the other hand produced an insightful showing of the logistics behind the failure to operate the festivities.
