Netsky Teams Up With Lil Wayne & Bazzi For New Genre Bending Single, “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore”

The title of NETSKY’s new single, “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore,” probably wasn’t intended to be self-referential, but that’s sure how it feels. The “Iron Heart” and “Jetlag Funk” producer has been steadily moving away from his roots, especially on his last album 3. Now, as he releases singles from forthcoming two-part project Palmtrees & Powerlines, we see him team up with the unlikely duo of Lil Wayne and Bazzi.

“I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” is a downtempo hip hop beat with tropical synths and vocals… coming from NETSKY, it’s as if someone has taken him over thrown away the original soul. It’s not a bad song, particularly, but it’s definitely going to turn some heads from OG NETSKY fans.

NETSKY said of the track, “As soon as I heard Bazzi’s topline I knew it was special. We ended up doing a few different versions of the song before we found the production that felt perfect. It turns out it had always been a dream of both of ours to work with Lil Wayne and we couldn’t think of anyone we’d rather have to jump on the track and complete the song. I’m excited for the world to hear what we’ve done together.”

Palmtrees & Powerlines is the two-part project that explores both NETSKY’s brand of pop music (on Palmtrees) and his take on club tracks (on Powerlines). “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” continues to build upon Palmtrees, alongside the previously released “Téquila Limonada” feat. A.CHAL. While last fall, NETSKY released “Ice Cold” with David Guetta, which finds its home in Powerlines.

Hopefully the next single brings us back to Powerlines.
