Nicky Romero has unleashed his first single of the year — an incredibly heartfelt and refreshing new collaboration featuring actress/singer Olivia Holt.
These artists are an organic sounding match with “Distance,” a song that dances with the pains of emotional separation. Not only is this dance-pop crossover an excellent listen, it has major radio appeal.
Previously known her work in Disney and Marvel productions, Olivia takes on a brave new role. Her voice has some power to it, but also some much needed vulnerability that makes this new collaboration feel relatable and real.
“I’m really proud of this collaboration with Olivia Holt,” Romero revealed to Billboard Dance. “She has an incredible voice and has been so supportive throughout the entire creative process. The emotion in ‘Distance’ really connected with me from the first time I heard the demo. I know the fans will be able to connect in their own way, which is what inspires me in the first place.”
