YouTube’s 2018 Rewind was heavily criticized for glossing over some of the major events of the year on the platform in favor of appealing to advertisers. While it’s a predictable move, it still annoyed creators who felt they should have been featured, and even some of those featured had harsh words to say about it once they saw the final cut.

Many YouTubers have made their own Rewind videos in the aftermath, including PewDiePie, the most-subscribed channel on YouTube (who wasn’t even in the official rewind). The much more realistic rewind includes a lot of real content from the platform over the past 12 months, including Monstercat’s viral “Crab Rave” and references to Marshmello. A brief mention of Avicii is also made in the ‘In Memoriam’ section of the video.

Keep in mind – it’s still PewDiePie. If you don’t like his comedy, you’re not going to like this video, either. Having gotten that out of the way, check it out below.
