In just a year’s time, Porter Robinson‘s life has done a 180. It started when he began working on his Virtual Self project, which has since led him to mass success and even a Grammy nomination. Trading in his fluttering future bass and synthpop melodies for trance and hardcore elements, Porter Robinson seamlessly divulged his talents into a whole new sub-genre of electronic music with Virtual Self. Now nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording with his brilliant single “Ghost Voices”, Porter Robinson opened up to Billboard in a recent interview regarding his newfound success with his Virtual Self project.

In the interview, Robinson revealed, “I honest to God do not care if I win or lose. I felt like I won the moment it got nominated. It was more than enough, but I’m completely satisfied that Virtual Self got nominated for the Grammy. That is a complete victory for the project in my mind and anything else is just a bonus.”

On Tuesday, he announced a special Virtual Self show at The Shrine in Los Angeles and it quickly sold out during its pre-sale. He’s now added a second date and tickets go on sale Friday at 10am PST so hop on tickets before this one sells out too.
