Last week (March 11-19), Hip Hop’s rejoiced with astounding news as 40 of the genre’s releases received RIAA certifications of gold and platinum status within a single week. The list saw several a-list acts with multiple song entries including G-Eazy, Kid Cudi, Post Malone, Lil Baby among the 40 entries identified for both certified gold/platinum achievement or ascension to various levels of multi-platinum status, moving another one million equivalent album units.
Among the Hip Hop heavyweights, the list also includes well-deserved artists like Jay Rock, Rich the Kid, and Kap G with their breakout singles. The news comes on the heel of Jay Rock securing his first Grammy Award for his work with Kendrick Lamar and Future for the Black Panther soundtrack song, “King’s Dead”.
Post Malone’s new single, “Wow” reaches Platinum status fresh off the remix release featuring Tyga and Roddy Richh.
