This past weekend, “Saturday Night Live” did a sketch about Weezer. After it aired, Rivers Cuomo tweeted, “THEY HAD A WHOLE ASS SKIT ABOUT WEEZER AND ME ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE AND IM ACTUALLY CRYING AAAGGGGHHHHHHH.” Now, in a new interview with Simon Vozick-Levinson for Rolling Stone, Cuomo has revealed that he actually hasn’t watched the sketch. “You know my Twitter, right? There’s little on there that’s literally true,” he explained. “A lot of it is Trump-true. Like, I agree with the spirit of what I’m tweeting, but a lot of times it’s not factually correct.”

Rivers Cuomo also commented on some of the claims from the “SNL” sketch, such as when Matt Damon’s character said, “‘Pork & Beans’ is better than ‘Buddy Holly.’” Cuomo’s take? “Um…. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.” Read the full interview at Rolling Stone.

Weezer recently released a t-shirt to commemorate the “Saturday Night Live” skit. Read Pitchfork’s Sunday Review of their debut album.
