RL Grime‘s most massive and iconic release to date — “Core” — just turned 5 years old.

The leading single off RL Grime’s debut album VOID boosted the producer’s career to a whole new level and fueled an emphatic trap takeover in the scene. The album was later released in full on November 14, 2014, featuring collaborations with Boys Noize, Big Sean and more.

To measure the widespread success of this song is impossible, but if you just think about all the times you’ve shouted out “WHO DO THE SHIT THAT I DO?” during a show, in the car, partying with friends, wherever — it will give you a pretty good idea.

Flash-forward to now and RL Grime heads up his own imprint Sable Valley, and most recently dropped a new edit of G Jones‘ “In Your Head.” It’s a good time to be RL Grime.

Listening to “Core” takes us back to the promising early beginnings of the beloved project that is RL Grime. Listen again right here and shout it out once more!
