WILDLYF had a huge 2018. One of Australia’s rising talents released a steady stream of originals that instantly grabbed our attention as he continued to expand his sound design and hone his prodigy level skills in the studio. With an unlimited amount of potential and an ear for releasing tracks designed to get your body moving, WILDLYF is set to do big things in 2019.

9. BADRAPPER

If BADRAPPER still hasn’t popped up on your radar you’re missing out. Another rising talent out of Australia, BADRAPPER spent the majority of the year delivering some of the heaviest tunes that 2018 had to offer. Dominating with face-melting trap and bass bangers, the producer teamed up with Avance, NXSTY, JACKNIFE, and ATLiens throughout the year and left us anxiously waiting for his next release. Keep your eye out for him in 2019 as he continues to make his way to the top of the trap and bass scene.

8. CRAY

Cray continued to rise to the top in 2018 with her unique discography leading the way. From versatile trap anthems to her hypnotic vocals, Cray stole 2018 with standout singles “Peaches” and “Fractions” as well as official remixes of Jai Wolf’s “Lost” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” ft. Cardi B. With festival appearances at Ultra, HARD Summer, and Electric Zoo under her belt, Cray is poised to make even bigger moves in 2019 as her sound continues to evolve.

7. Birthdayy Partyy

Chicago-based duo Birthdayy Partyy impressed us this past year and it’s easy to see why. Throughout 2018 they’ve released a wide range of aggressive house anthems with a few trap and dubstep surprises as well. only adding to their versatility. Their unique and unpredictable approach to remixing landed them on our Best Remixes Of The Week series throughout the year, with their undeniable energy quickly garnering a large following. Stay tuned, these guys can only get bigger in 2019.

6. Xie

Xie

Rising female producer Xie had a phenomenal 2018. Throwing down at top-tier festivals like Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Firefly, and Hard Summer, Xie made her mark on music with her unique pop anthems laden with delicious trap elements. Stand out tracks “Habits,” “Drip,” and “Super 8” showed off her mesmerizing vocals and ear for creating sultry synths landing her at the top of our watch list. Fall under her spell and keep an eye out for what she’s got coming out next in 2019.

5. Mickey Kojak

Mickey Kojak quickly became one of our favorite new artists of the year.  The rising Aussie talent hit our radar with his vast and experimental style that lead to several outstanding covers and originals throughout 2018. Unapologetically standing out from the crowd, Mickey Kojack’s refreshing style enchanted listeners and offered an infectious sound design to get lost in. Keep an eye on him in 2019 as the Aussie continues to stay ahead of the curve.

4. TWO LANES

TWO LANES

TWO LANES made their mark in early 2018 with the release of two stunning remixes of ZHU and Skrillex’s “Working For It” and San Holo’s “The Future”. From there, the brother duo continued to make waves with originals and several more remixes throughout the year. Their knack for releasing refreshingly unique remixes and fire hot originals led to a driving momentum that should carry them to new heights in the next year.

 

3. Midnight Kids

Through their electrifying remixes and killer originals, Midnight Kids took 2018 by storm.  Featured heavily throughout our Best Remixes Of The Week series, Midnight Kids put out a round of energetic remixes and mesmerizing originals that constantly stole the show. With an ever-growing fanbase behind them, Midnight Kids is set for an even bigger 2019.

2. LICK

LICK

Thanks to his innovative and edgy production style, LICK had quite the standout year, dropping an official remix for Zeds Dead and Jauz’s “Lights Go Down” as well as an impressive flip of Virtual Self’s “Angel Voices“. Between his guest mix for Deadbeats Radio and his phenomenal originals and remixes released throughout 2018, LICK shows no signs of slowing down.

Junior State

Junior State pretty much popped up out of nowhere towards the end of the year.  The mysterious project released a series of impeccable classic hip-hop remixes that managed to hit every right note. Creating a unique vibe laced with soul and laid back hip-hop instrumentals, Junior State quickly made a name for themselves with fire hot remixes of Missy Elliot, OutKast, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Wayne, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, 2 Pac and more. Ending the year with a sultry debut Shelter, Junior State sits at the top of our watch list for 2019.
