25. pluko – Need Ya (feat. Nevve)

Pluko rose to new heights this year with his impressive debut album Sixteen via Foreign Family Collective. A standout amongst his collection of ethereal atmospheres and dreamy melodies was his Nevve featured single “Need Ya”. Bouncing between indie and future bass, “Need Ya” astounded with its airy vocal chops and refreshing soundscape.

24. Sweater Beats –Faded Away (feat. Icona Pop)

Sweater Beats has been a master of flirty future bass anthems for some time. Following his 2017 For The Cold EP, Sweater Beats enlisted electro-pop legends Icona Pop for one of his biggest collaborations yet. “Faded Away” was monumental with its upbeat and glittery future bass soundscape. Anthemic and fun, “Faded Away” is one of those songs that is perfect for scream-singing.

23. Xie – Habits

Xie made waves this year with her feisty lyricism and dynamic production. As one of the hottest female producers to rise this year, Xie made her mark with her debut solo single “Habits“. Shadowy and pop-scented, Xie’s ethereal vocals flutter over the feathery, future bass beat, bouncing off the deep kicks and shadowy synths.

22. Tarro – Alone (feat. Jutes & Noey)

Beartrap producer Tarro has also marveled us with his signature sound and production and official remixes for Blackbear. This year, he amazed with a proper single ahead of his upcoming 11:11 project. Making our list at #22, “Alone” tantalized with its deep future bass synths, booming basslines, and light piano stabs. To top it off, Tarro slushed the track with his classic bouncy, bellowing vocal chops before dropping the track into club ready future bass banger. “Alone” is easily one of Tarro’s finest originals to date.

21. Justice Skolnik – Cameras (feat. Jeremy Zucker)

Justice Skolnik soared to new heights with his sultry Jeremy Zucker featured single “Cameras“. Serving as the debut single for ALT:Vision Records, “Cameras” immediately enticed us with its seductive lyricism and upbeat, melodic drop. “Cameras” was the summery stunner that was easy to play on repeat and insanely dance-crazed.

20. ilo ilo – Wait

ilo ilo immediately caught our eye with their playful social media and the intriguing mystery surrounding the anonymous duo. Their debut “Wait” was glittery and bright and filled with bouncy future bass melodies and intricately produced percussion. “Wait” not only proved to be a monumental advancement in future bass music but also cemented ilo ilo as an artist to watch in 2019.

19. Shallou X Kasbo – Find (feat. Cody Lovaas)

Shallou and Kasbo each had an amazing year with their respective releases of Souls and Places We Don’t Know and headline tours. Together, they came together for an impeccable collaboration “Find” to combine shiny indie elements with future bass production. Sultry and sweet, “Find” was melodic and inspirational.

18. Ekali & Medasin – Forever (feat. Elohim)

Ekali and Medasin delivered one of the hottest collaborations of the year with “Forever“. The track brought out a side of each of the producers that was light and playful and beautifully breathtaking. “Forever” has become an iconic masterpiece in both Ekali and Medasin’s catalogs.

17. DROELOE – Many Words

DROELOE soared to new heights this year between their phenomenal The Choices We Face EP and massive US headline tour. Amongst their various releases this year, “Many Words” is an easy standout. Forward-thinking and vibey, “Many Words” is an ethereal smash that brought forth the best that future bass has to offer.

16. Daktyl – Weather (feat. MOONZz)

Daktyl has always been an imaginative producer and his single “Weather” rightfully made its way onto our list. Powerful and emotional, “Weather” showed off the height of Daktyl’s creative prowess. Featuring MOONZz, “Weather” was filled with wonky vocal chops and sharp percussion that hit us right in the feels.

15. QUIX – Giving Up (feat. Jaden Michaels)

QUIX had an amazing year filled with official remixes of Diplo and RL Grime and his ground-breaking debut Illusions EP. Amidst his immersive trap originals, QUIX unleashed a future bass banger that is the definition of festival-ready. “Giving Up” was anthemic and dance-crazed and a sure-fire hit of the year.

14. Ekali – Leaving (feat. Yuna)

Ekali released a series of unique heartthrob singles before diving into his impressive debut Crystal Eyes EP. His final single “Leaving” was a beautifully chill escape into the world of future bass. Feathery and intricate, Ekali’s “Leaving” was a memorable future bass track deserving of a place on our list.

13. Autograf X Klingande X Dragonette – Hope For Tomorrow

Autograf had another massive year filled with wild collabs but none as great as their single with Klingande and Dragonette. “Hope For Tomorrow” explored their expanse into future bass and away from house music. Danceable and fun, Autograf’s spin on future bass was a perfect fit for our list.

12. Whethan – Superlove (feat. Oh Wonder)

Whethan had a number of impressive collaborations this year alongside Broods, Bipolar Sunshine, and HONNE, but his most recognizable track of the year was “Superlove” with Oh Wonder. Vibey and bright, “Superlove” had all the elements of a classic future bass banger with its wonky synths and pitched vocal chops.

11. Illenium – Take You Down

Emotional and powerful, “Take You Down” was an inspirational track that opened up a new side of Illenium. Soaring melodies and triumphant lyricism only added to Illenium’s masterpiece. “Take You Down” is an easy standout amongst his various releases this year.

10. Gryffin – Tie Me Down (feat. Elley Duhé)

Gryffin‘s “Tie Me Down” has already garnered over 56 million Spotify streams and is easily one of his most prominent tracks to date. “Tie Me Down” was the bright club banger this year that was perfect for any dancefloor with its vibrant synths and luxurious percussion.

9. Medasin – Work For You (feat. Kaz Moon)

Medasin had a magnificent year and his pristine IRENE album had a lot to do with that. “Work For You” was an easy standout with its glitchy soundscape and intricate percussion. Taking future bass to new levels, “Work For You” was easily one of our favorite tracks of the year.

8. k?d – Electronic Memories (feat. Mickey Kojak)

K?d‘s debut Find Paradise EP made waves in both the trap and future bass world. Featuring Mickey Kojak, “Electronic Memories” soared to new heights with its vibrant soundscape and multi-dimensional production. Amidst his dark and trap heavy EP, “Electronic Memories” was a bright and diverse addition to k?d’s collection.

7. The Chainsmokers – Somebody (feat. Drew Love)

The Chainsmokers dropped a flurry of diverse, genre-blending singles this year and “Somebody” was the future bass stunner that claimed summer. “Somebody” featured THEY.’s Drew Love and turned heads with its luxurious soundscape. “Somebody” is the chill banger that easily stands out amongst their Sick Boy project.

6. San Holo – Lift Me From The Ground (feat. Sofie Winterson)

San Holo had a phenomenal year between his ground-breaking debut album1 and massive headlining tour. His album1 single “Lift Me From The Ground” was a flawless and airy future bass dream that reminded us why we first fell in love with San Holo. The track’s breezy, ethereal soundscape drifted into an otherworldly place that shook us to our core and was a simple choice for #6 on our list.

5. Louis The Child – Better Not (feat. Wafia)

Louis The Child erupted this year with their future bass hit “Better Not“. Garnering over 85 million streams, “Better Not” was the definition of a summer banger with its upbeat, feel-good nature and bubbly melodies. Our list wouldn’t be prime without a little Louis The Child and “Better Not” is more than deserving of the #5 slot.

4. Alison Wonderland – Church

Alison Wonderland amazed with her sophomore album Awake and its lead single “Church” shook us in all the right ways. Melodic and laid-back, “Church” lifted her the Australian heroine to new heights. Easily one of our favorite tracks of the year, Alison Wonderland’s “Church” has taken the cake and the #3 spot on our list.

3. Marshmello – Happier (feat. Bastille)

Marshmello has dominated the future bass game for some time and his single “Happier” was one of the highlights of the year. Incredibly catchy and masterfully produced, “Happier” was the pop-centric future bass anthem the world needed. Add to that the mere fact that Bastille provided the track’s vocals, “Happier” is an instant winner.

2. Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey – The Middle

Zedd‘s “The Middle” is one of the biggest dance records of the year. Garnering more than 570 million Spotify streams and receiving three Grammy nominations, “The Middle” has rightfully taken the #2 slot on our list.

1. RL Grime – I Wanna Know (feat. Daya)

“I Wanna Know” was the first single off RL Grime‘s NOVA album and for good reason. The track was the definition of a future bass banger and showed a new side of RL Grime. Anthemic and emotional, “I Wanna Know” was the festival-ready track the summer desperately needed. Taking yet another #1 slot on our end of the year lists, RL Grime absolutely slayed 2018.
