A little over a year ago, Lykke Li released “two nights” with Aminé, co-produced by Skrillex, which would eventually end up on her 2018 album so sad so sexy. Today, she releases a brand new remix of the song titled “two nights part ii” with Skrillex and Ty Dolla $ign. This is the second track off of her forthcoming EP still sad still sexy, a collection of new music and remixes slated for release on July 26th via RCA Records.
Where the remix and the original differ is slight. The beat is a bit more hip hop, with some additional muted pads — not quite snares, not quite kicks. More clearly, Aminé is swapped for Ty Dolla $ign, and the remix has an actual drop.
Listening to the two back to back, the changes are easy to hear, but it’s unlikely you’d be able to immediately pick either out of a playlist if you’re not mindfully listening.
