Skrillex is on the verge of releasing some game-changing music — and eight years ago he was doing the same thing. His Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP, the followup to his iconic My Name Is Skrillex EP, really intensified his come up.

The entire EP packed in a lot of heat, showcasing Skrillex as a multi-dimensional producer. From his “Rock N’ Roll” side to his raging “Kill Everybody” side, to the softer, melodic side heard in “With You, Friends” — a lot of ground was covered in this regular-sized EP. The title track “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites” still remains one of the most recognizable EDM tracks on the planet.

Not only did the EP go platinum, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites landed Skrillex the Best Dance/Electronica Album Award at the 54th Annual Grammys. He also won Best Dance Recording with the widely popular track “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites.” Needless to say, the massive underground and commercial success of this release gained Skrillex unmeasurable attention.

It’s rare that music ages as well as this EP has, but Skrillex has always been ahead of his time. While we await his epic return, listen to this release all over again right here… Happy Birthday!
