Spike Lee’s iconic Do the Right Thing turns 30 this year, and, to celebrate, the film is returning to theaters with a 4K restoration, Deadline reports. The screenings begin on June 28. In addition, on July 23, the Criterion Collection will release “a director-approved definitive edition” of the movie on Blu-ray/DVD, according to Deadline.
Lee’s 1989 film was scored by his father Bill Lee. The soundtrack notably includes Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power,” which Spike Lee commissioned for the movie. Do the Right Thing also earned Lee a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
