Spiritualized have announced a new album, one titled Everything Was Beautiful. It’s out February 25 via Fat Possum. “Always Together with You,” which the band released in an earlier form as “Always Forgetting With You (The Bridge Song)” in 2014, is the first song from the project. Listen to it and see the rest of the track list below.

Everything Was Beautiful is the first new Spiritualized record since 2018’s And Nothing Hurt, which bandleader J Spaceman (aka Jason Pierce) had suggested would his final album for his longtime project. Together, those titles form one of the most famous lines from Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five: “Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.” Pierce shared a brief statement about the record:

There was so much information on it that the slightest move would unbalance it, but going around in circles is important to me. Not like you’re spiraling out of control but you’re going around and around and on each revolution you hold onto the good each time. Sure, you get mistakes as well, but you hold on to some of those too and that’s how you kind of… achieve. Well, you get there.

Earlier this year, Spiritualized began a reissue campaign for their back catalog, which has so far included their first four records and, more recently, their landmark Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.
