Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood have shared tributes to their late Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, who died this morning (November 30) following a short illness. Both Nicks and Fleetwood posted eulogies on their Instagram accounts after the news of McVie’s death began to circulate. “A few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975 had passed away,” Nicks wrote. She continued:
Nicks then wrote out the lyrics to Haim’s 2019 song “Hallelujah.” “See you on the other side, my love,” Nicks added. “Don’t forget me—Always, Stevie.”
In a separate Instagram post, Mick Fleetwood wrote:
McVie’s family shared the news of her death earlier today, noting in a statement that she “passed away peacefully at hospital this morning.” The family added that she was “in the company of her family” at the time. McVie was 79 years old.
