The death of rapper XXXTENTACION touched the hearts of many. Back and forth in the media, the artist left both an influential yet infamous legacy. Regardless of his past and his character, fans always found a way to support the artist in his time of need. His music simply posed as a safe haven for the emotionally vulnerable. He spoke for those who had no voice.
No matter whatever opinion you may hold of him, there is simply no denying the large impact he’s had on the current state of hip-hop/rap. After releasing his second full-length album “?“, it seemed as if things were taking a turn and the artist himself was evolving into something greater than we’ve seen ourselves. Everything quickly went out the window when the rapper was shot and killed in Florida.
Before his death, X shared that he was sitting on a couple of albums, “Skins” being one of the two that remained unreleased. Now, we have today, his first posthumous album. Spanning over 10-tracks, the rapper quickly familiarizes us with the talent that was left from the earth. Even adding in a swoon feature from Kanye West, we have a feeling this project will keep us in content as supporters continue to mourn the loss of the young 20-year old.
