Tekashi 6ix9ine is no longer on probation, stemming from his 2015 guilty plea to the use of a child in a sexual performance, TMZ reports. A judge has reportedly revoked 6ix9ine’s probation, given him credit for time served, and will not make the Brooklyn rapper serve 1,000 hours of community service. According to the report, the judge cited the federal racketeering and firearms charges against 6ix9ine “as a reason for the decision.” The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office offered no comment when contacted by Pitchfork.

6ix9ine was sentenced to four years of probation in October 2018 for the use of a child in a sexual performance. He was also ordered to complete community service and refrain from gang affiliation, among other requirements. The night of his sentencing (October 26), one of 6ix9ine’s bodyguards was shot outside of a Manhattan restaurant. Three of 6ix9ine’s associates—including his ex-manager and the wounded bodyguard—were charged with gang assault in connection with the incident.

On November 18, 6ix9ine and several associates were arrested on federal crime charges. The Brooklyn rapper is currently in federal custody and is facing a maximum penalty of life in prison. 6ix9ine has pled not guilty to the federal charges. His trial is scheduled for September 4, 2019.
