Tems has shared the self-directed music video for her new song “Me & U.” In a statement, the Nigerian singer-songwriter said, “‘Me & U’ is about discovering the real me, building a genuine relationship with the Creator, and gaining a true perception of self.” Watch the video, filmed in Malta, below.
“Me & U” is Tems’ first song of 2023. Last year, she notably contributed to Beyoncé’s Renaissance song “Move” and Rihanna’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever single “Lift Me Up.” She was also prominently sampled on Future and Drake’s “Wait for U.”
Tems was nominated for an Academy Award as a songwriter of “Lift Me Up,” and she won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance as a credited artist on for “Wait for U.”
