Fifty years after its release, The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society has gone gold, ITV reports. Ray Davies was awarded the gold disc for the record’s 100,000th sale earlier this week. (Gold records mark 500,000 sales in the U.S.) The album was intended to “celebrate the small things in life” after the group was banned from America, Davis tells ITV. He adds that he’s in the process of turning the album into a stage show.

A box set of the record came out last month, featuring demos, alternate versions, live takes, TV performances, and more. Watch a lyric video for “Time Song” below.
