The Weeknd has officially released the first song made for his HBO show, The Idol. The new track, “Double Fantasy,” features Future and was produced by the Weeknd, Mike Dean, and Metro Boomin. The song arrives with a music video featuring clips from The Idol. Check it out below.

The Weeknd and Future have collaborated on a number of occasions, with some of their bigger collaborative songs being “Low Life,” “Drinks on Us,” and “Comin Out Strong.”

The first episode of The Idol will air on HBO and Max on Sunday, June 4, at 9 p.m. Eastern. The show will also screen at Cannes Film Festival in May. Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye co-created The Idol with Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim. He also stars in the series with Lily-Rose Depp. Additional cast members include Dan Levy, Hari Nef, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Hank Azaria, and Jennie of Blackpink.

Last month, Rolling Stone published an investigation into The Idol in which sources described staff changes, a new creative direction, and troubling script ideas akin to “sexual torture porn” that were allegedly thrown out. Amy Seimetz originally signed on to direct the show, but left last year with most of the show filmed. The production crew expected a new director to film the finale and wrap production, but instead sources told Rolling Stone that Levinson scrapped the nearly complete “$54-75 million project to rewrite and reshoot the entire thing.”

The Weeknd responded to Rolling Stone’s report with a clip from The Idol that was captioned: “.@RollingStone did we upset you?” In addition, HBO said, “The creators and producers of The Idol have been working hard to create one of HBO’s most exciting and provocative original programs.”
